Position Summary
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing day-to-day shop operations while supporting production planning.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Scheduling
- Plan and schedule fabrication with shop and yard teams
- Coordinate production priorities based on job schedules
- Maintain electronic bar lists and detail transfers
- Ensure production meets delivery timelines
Inventory & Procurement
- Monitor inventory levels and remnant usage
- Coordinate ordering of rebar and accessories
- Maintain accurate inventory of materials and merchandise
Shop Leadership
- Supervise fabricators
- Enforce safety standards and operational discipline
- Identify equipment maintenance needs and coordinate repairs
- Assist with loading/unloading and fabrication as needed
- Operate Schnell bending machine
- Operate manual benders and other equipment when required
- Assist in coordinating workflow between fabrication stations
Backup Leadership
- Support estimating, scheduling, and customer coordination
Qualifications
- 3–7 years in rebar fabrication or steel shop operations
- Strong understanding of shear lines, benders, and fabrication workflows
- Leadership experience in a production environment
- Ability to balance hands-on work with supervisory responsibilities

- Strong team accountability and safety compliance
- Efficient use of materials (low scrap/remnants)
- Reliable backup leadership capability
